COLOMBO: The Black Rose Academy distributed awards on Int.Women’s Day to its students who passed out from the academy on completion of their respective courses.
Nazreena rameez ,founder and managing directress of the Black Rose Academy told Colombo Times that the Int. Women’s Day is an important day for women who take active roles in various strata of society.
In addition to honoring the students, the academy chose a few outstanding women who have made great contributions to the nation

Mrs Fawaza Thaha, President of the Young Women’s Muslim Association also received a special women’s day award from the Black Rose Academy in Colombo to mark the International Women’s Day Celebration at the Mihilaka Madura at the BMICH, Colombo on Wednesday, March 8.
Former health minister Dr. Rajitha Senarathna was the chief guest for the occasion.
