COLOMBO: The Indonesian Foreign Minister, H.E. Retno L.P. Marsudi, held a bilateral meeting with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, Honorable Ali Sabry, in the margin of the 30th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), on 14 July 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
During the meeting between the two Ministers of Foreign Affairs, among others, they had the commitment to increase cooperation in mutual interest and the plan to hold the 3rd Indonesia-Sri Lanka Joint Commission meeting in 2024, during which Sri Lanka will host the event.
The two Ministers also shared information on the Chairmanship of IORA, whereby Sri Lanka will serve as Chair of the IORA for 2023-2025 and carry the theme “Strengthening Regional Architecture: Reinforcing Indian Ocean Identity.”
They also reaffirmed the importance of the ARF as a key platform for fostering constructive dialogue and consultation on political and security issues of common interest and concern and reiterated the support for ASEAN Centrality in the ARF.
