COLOMBO – The Beruwela Base Hospital (BBH) has been converted into a Covid Center on an initiative taken by the parliamentarian representing Kalutara district, Marjan Faleel.
The Medical Superintendent at the BBH Dr. Avanthi Rupasinghe had thanked the China Fort Mosque Society for donating the needed equipment to upgrade the hospital into a facility which can treat Covid patients in the area.
In her letter to the Mosque Society, Dr. Rupasinghe while thanking the organization had also appreciated the initiative taken by Marjan Faleel who had collected Rs 7.5 million to purchase the needed medical equipment and the furniture required for the new facility.
Marjan Faleel also took the opportunity to thank the donors who generously contributed to this humanitarian project which would help the patients who need hospitalization within the area.
“ We have witnessed a good number of people have been taking their loved ones all the way Beruwela to Colombo to take Covid treatment. Now the service is at their doorstep,” he added.
