CANNES : Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon’s film Rehana Maryam Noor was screened at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. Azmeri was in Cannes to attend the screening of her film in which she plays the titular role. The film received a standing ovation at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. However, what also grabbed the netizens’ attention was the attire which the actress opted to wear at the event. Azmeri stuck to her roots and opted to wear a traditional Dhakai Jamdani saree and oh boy, she looked drop-dead gorgeous.
Azmeri Haque walked the red carpet at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in a beige Jamdani saree from the Bangladeshi brand Aarong. The saree had intricated handwoven motifs. She wore it with a halter-neck blouse which had statement silver pieces embellished on the belts. She accessorised her look with silver ear studs and matching bracelet. Azmeri kept her make-up simple, kohl-rimmed eyes, contoured cheekbones and matte mauve lipstick. The actress had her hair tied in a centre-parted sleek bun.
Sharing pictures from the event on Instagram, Azmeri Haque Badhon wrote, “Thanks to @brac.aarong and the entire team who have worked so hard on my sharee and jewellery. It was so nice to wear my deshi Dhakai Jamdani at the event. When it comes to Jamdani, I never think about anything other than Aarong ! Thanks for arranging such an exclusive one within a very short time. Special thanks to Asif Bhai who simply said ‘Yes’ to Jamdani when I expressed my interest to wear one from Aarong (sic).”(India Today)
