Automotive excellence to be honoured at Inaugural Automobile Industry Awards 2025

COLOMBO–  Sri Lanka’s inaugural Automobile Industry Awards 2025 will honour excellence and innovation across the nation’s automotive sector, announced Chartered Automobile Engineer Ravith Silva.

The event is scheduled to take place in February 2026 at Temple Trees.

Silva said the awards aim to bring together all stakeholders manufacturers, service providers, trainers, and regulators to foster a culture of recognition and collaboration while setting new benchmarks at both local and global levels.

He noted that the Malcolm Baldrige criteria will be used to evaluate nominees, ensuring an internationally recognized standard of assessment.

Erandika Dissanayake of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board said the initiative will help elevate the global profile of Sri Lankan industry professionals and encourage greater export-oriented growth.

“There are many components we can produce locally, and this platform will help our industries move forward,” Dissanayake said.

Organized by the Automobile Industry Council of Sri Lanka, the awards will open to international participants in future editions.
