COLOMBO ; Officers attached to Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs have arrested a passenger on suspicion of carrying Narcotics at the Bandaranaike International Airport on Sunday,March 24.
The passenger from Brazil who had come to Colombo via Dubai. is a 41 year-old Venuzulean national. He had arrived by the flight EK 650 at 8.30 in the morning in Sunday .
During the body scanning, images of concealment of drugs were revealed.
On questioning he had admitted to have drug capsules swallowed by himself.
Officers have so far been able to retrieve 12 capsules upto now weighing 132 grams. The retrieval process is continuing.
The narcotics found is suspected to be Cocaine. Passenger will be handed over to Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation .
