
DUBAI : The Arunalu Siththam 2024,art competition, organized for the first time in the United Arab Emirates by the Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC,in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka to the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, marked a significant milestone in fostering artistic and cultural connections between Sri Lanka and the UAE.
The event was initiated and expertly led by Ms. Yoshita Ahmed,who played a pivotal role as both the initiator and resource person. Her vision and dedication ensured the seamless execution of the competition, creating a platform for young Sri Lankan artists in the UAE to express their creativity and showcase their talents.
A special note of appreciation goes to His Excellency Udaya Indrarathne,The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the UAE,for his continuous support and encouragement throughout the event. His leadership has been instrumental in strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.
Also contributing to the success of this groundbreaking event were foreign bank representatives in the UAE, Mr. Anuradha Kaluarachchi and Mr. Akila Bogahawatta,whose involvement added significant value to the organization of the competition.
Arunalu Siththam 2024 not only celebrated the artistic talents of young Sri Lankans living in the UAE but also highlighted the importance of cross-cultural collaboration, setting a strong foundation for future events in the region.
