COLOMBO : Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Holy See (Vatican) arrived here on Monday morning on Nov.3
On arrival.the Archbishop was received by deputy foreign minister Arun Hemachandra at the Colombo airport.
His visit marks the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Holy See — a milestone of friendship, mutual respect, and shared values.
During his visit, His Excellency Archbishop Gallagher is scheduled to meet with H.E. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Hon. Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, and Hon. Minister Wijitha Herath, and take part in the commemorative ceremony in Colombo, which will also be graced by His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo.
This golden jubilee celebration is a moment of reflection on our enduring partnership with the Vatican, grounded in peace, compassion, and the service of humanity.
