COLOMBO ; A preliminary meeting of the diplomatic engagement programme, ‘An Evening with Diplomats’, aimed at attracting foreign investment and expanding international market opportunities for entrepreneurs in the Central Province, was held on 30 October at the Central Provincial Council Auditorium.
The initiative seeks to accelerate the development of the tourism, agriculture and small business sectors in the province by strengthening international partnerships and creating new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
Ambassadors and representatives from five ASEAN member countries—Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand—participated in the meeting. The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) promotes economic, political, social and cultural cooperation among countries in Southeast Asia.
The programme aims to promote tourism in the Central Province, attract foreign investment to develop the agricultural and small business sectors, and establish international business connections to help local entrepreneurs access global markets
