ALFEA donates Rs 6 million to national Covid fund

COLOMBO : The Association of Licensed Foreign Employment Agencies (ALFEA) handed over Rs. 6 million to Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Monday towards the Itukama Covid-19 Health and Social Security Fund.

It was stated at this meeting that the Government’s programme to eradicate Covid in Sri Lanka and the expeditious vaccination process have been praised abroad.

Officials of the Association of Licensed Foreign Employment Agencies stated that foreign countries are more willing to provide employment to Sri Lankan workers as a result.

Prime Minister Rajapaksa expressed his gratitude to the Association of Licensed Foreign Employment Agencies for their contribution to the Government’s efforts to contain the pandemic.

State Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification, Piyankara Jayaratne, Secretary to the Prime Minister, Anura Dissanayake, Attorney-at-Law and Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister, Chaminda Kularatne, Bureau of Foreign Employment Chairman Retired Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, ALFEA President Faroos Marikkar, Secretary M.F.M. Arshad and Treasurer Zaman Thaha were present.
