COLOMBO — The Ahasa Media Team honoured women in various walks of life such as in Education, Sports, Media Artistes, and Social Service to mark the International Women’s Day held at the BMICH Wednesday March 8.
It was held under the patronage of Ahasa Media Team CEO Mrs. Priyanga Bandaranayake. The “ LankaLankari “ awards were distributed.
The recent best tea plucker competition winner R. Seethaiyammah from Somerset Estate also received award at this ceremony.
Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation Former Chairperson Inoka Sathyangani was present as chief guest. Colombo National Hospital Dr. Jayamalie Jayasinghe, ‘ Ape Amma’ Women’s Newspapers Chief Editor Lalith Rohitha Edirisinghe, ANCL Thinakaran Newspaper Chief Editor Senthil Velavar, Ahasa Media Team Advisor Hassim Omar and Jandhipathi Balika Vidyalaya Principal Nayana Wanniarachchi distributed the awards to the recipients.
Executive Director Saman Chandrarathna, Managing Director Janapriya Jayasinghe, Artists and Media Personnel were also present.
