ACJU appeals the members of the Muslim community to lend their helping hands to those distressed due to inclement weather conditions

COLOMBO : In view of the prevailing bad weather conditions, the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU) has called upon the Muslim community to stand together in compassion, solidarity, and service.

Extend Immediate Assistance
The ACJU requests all Muslims to assist those affected to the best of their ability by providing:

Food and dry rations
Clothing and essential supplies
Temporary shelter support
Financial assistance
Volunteer services
All relief efforts should be coordinated through your local masjids and ACJU Divisional Branches, and collaboration with the relevant Local Government Authorities, to ensure proper organization, safety, and efficient distribution of aid.

This unified approach prevents duplication, ensures transparency, and allows support to reach the most vulnerable families quickly and responsibly.

The Islamic Guidance on Charity During Calamities
Charity protects from harm (Bayhaqī in Shuʿab al-Īmān)

Acts of kindness become a shield from difficulties and draw the mercy of Allah.

Charity appeases Allah’s displeasure (Tirmidhī — 614, Ibn Ḥibbān)

Giving softens the heart and invites divine forgiveness.

Helping others brings Allah’s help (Muslim — 2699)

Whoever eases the burdens of others, Allah eases their burdens in return.

Calamities awaken our hearts, call us to repentance, test our patience, and offer opportunities for service and spiritual elevation
