COLOMBO : National Integrity Week, declared under the theme “A Culture of Integrity – A Clean Sri Lanka”, will be observed from 27 to 31 July 2026.
The programme, announced through a circular issued under the signature of Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, will be jointly implemented by the Presidential Secretariat and the Clean Sri Lanka Programme.
The week will officially commence at 9.00 a.m. tomorrow (27) with the administration of the National Integrity Pledge and the launch of the Code of Ethics at the Presidential Secretariat and all other Government institutions across the country.
The primary objective of National Integrity Week is to enhance the quality, efficiency and transparency of the public service while fostering an exemplary system of governance that is free from corruption.
In this context, integrity refers to carrying out one’s duties conscientiously, with self-discipline, self-regulation and self-monitoring, while upholding honesty, transparency and the highest ethical standards.
The programme for National Integrity Week has been organised as follows:
- 27 July – Promoting institutional integrity.
- 28 July – Promoting financial, digital, entrepreneurial and technological integrity.
- 29 July – Promoting spiritual, ethical, cultural and social integrity.
- 30 July – Promoting operational, infrastructure, service delivery and labour integrity.
- 31 July – Promoting environmental, resource management, rural and community empowerment integrity.
Under the guidance of the Presidential Secretariat, Internal Affairs Units established in every Government institution will receive public complaints relating to corruption, misconduct or administrative shortcomings. Members of the public may submit complaints via QR codes, email, post, telephone or web-based messaging platforms. A dedicated digital monitoring system operated by the Presidential Secretariat will oversee the action taken by the heads of institutions in response to these complaints.
Following the conclusion of National Integrity Week on 31 July, the programme will continue uninterrupted across all Government and semi-Government institutions until 31 December 2026, with the aim of embedding a lasting culture of integrity throughout the public service.
