COLOMBO – The 98th Anniversary Celebration of the Ananda Balika Vidyalaya Maradana , Colombo was held at the school premises on Wednesday on January 25 under the patronage of the Principal of the School Mrs. W.B.G. Kumuduni.
Rev. Abanpola Rahula Himi conducted the religious programme at this event.
Principal Mrs. W.B.G. Kumuduni and Ex Vice Principal Mrs. Madavi Dissanayake hoisted the National Flag and the College Flag at this ceremony.
Principal W.B.G. Kumuduni praised the old girls’ contribution to the school and she said that Ananda Balika Vidyalaya will be another popular school in the future. She requested the students study well and be active in education as future leaders in our motherland. Also she appealed for better work as team work to build a good school.
The Anniversary cake was cut by the Principal, Teachers and Old Girls to mark the anniversary.
Vice Principals M. S. Dissanayake, A.U.Pathirange and Chamira Perera, including Old Girls Association Vice President of the Anuja De Silva, Secretary Janaranjani Liyanage, Treasurer Himali Kalubowila, Advisors Ruchira Yapa Abeywardene and Sujeeka Wickremesinghe and Teachers and Students were also present.
