8th World Green Economy Summit: Environment Minister calls largest emitters of Green House Gases to assist developing countries for fair climate transition.  

DUBAI; Sri Lanka’s Environment Minister Naseer Ahamed called for world’s largest emitters of Green House Gases to fulfill/ their commitments and assist developing countries such as Sri Lanka for a just and fair climate transition.

The 8th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) is hosted by the Government of the United Arab Emirates and organized by Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) and the World Green Economy Organization (WGEO). It takes place on 28 and 29 September 2022 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. 

The Summit aims to propel action to deliver a sustainable future. Convened in the lead-up to COP27 in Egypt and COP28 in the UAE, the Summit will provide a platform to build consensus around the potential of technologies, policies, and youth as engines of a green economy transformation. It also supports the UAE’s efforts to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDGs).
