COLOMBO – The National Vesak Celebrations are celebrated in a grand scale this year in Sri Lanka .
“ Buddha Rashmi” Vesak Zone organized by the Gangaramaya Temple at the temple premises, which is inaugurated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be held till 7th of May.
India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangaladesh, Vietnam, Nepal and Thailand embassies displayed the Buddhist heritage in their respective countries at this Vesak Zone.
The Ambassador of Indonesia to Sri Lanka Dewi Gustina Tobing briefed Colombo Times about the Buddhism heritage and showed the biggest Buddhist temple in Indonesia. She said that the Vesak day is very important for the Buddhist community and she also mentioned that Indonesia is joining with Sri Lankans to Celebrate Vesak.
Large number of Buddhist devotees including Muslims and Tamils visited these embassy booths.
