COLOMBO : International Women’s Day is identified as the global day for celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Over the last few days and today you have read as part of the Colombo Times International Women’s Day insights and perspectives of women representing different industries in the Corporate Sector and few from the Field of Academic Study. We have heard such voices from many other forums too. Although each one of them is distinct and unique, certain issues that have surfaced are common to all women and have been highlighted in the past as well. We trust that this series of interviews will provide our readers an understanding of these real-life issues and take steps to discuss at appropriate forums at all levels.  At the least, we should spend the next 364 days leading up to IWD 2022 to mitigate the impact and to resolve the key issues.
