Ambassador in Oman complements doctor who performed critical surgery amidst global pandemic.
MUSCAT : Sri Lanka Ambassador to Oman O.L. Ameer Ajwad honoured Dr. Tahira Kazmi, Senior Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecologist who successfully performed a critical surgery at Khoula Hospital in Muscat on a Sri Lankan pregnant migrant worker who gave birth to triplets amid COVID-19 pandemic challenges.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad had earlier made arrangements with Dr. Tahira Kazmi for this critical surgery on this triplets pregnant mother who was unable to travel to Sri Lanka for the delivery due to the lockdown and closure of the airports in the aftermath of COVID-19 outbreak.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad extended his sincere appreciation to Dr. Mazin Al Khabouri
Director General of the Ministry of Health of the Sultanate of Oman as well as to Dar Al-Atta Charitable Association of Oman for their kind and generous humanitarian gesture towards this distressed pregnant migrant worker to deliver her three babies in a successful and peaceful manner.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad also extended his sincere gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and the Government of His Majesty for taking excellent care of migrant workers in Oman during these challenging times.
